Northern lucine



Utbredning
Distribution in scandinavian waters

Maximum diameter: 4,0 cm.
Appearance: The thick round shell is white in those areas where the thin brown surface layer has been eroded. Compare with the Smooth and Rayed mussels.
Depth: 5-100 m.
Environment: Lives dug down in soft bottoms.
Misc: Shells from the Northern lucine that are often found washed up onto Swedish beaches are often old.
Classification: The Northern lucine is a member of the bivalve group under the molluscs.
