Rounded and Rayed mussels- Dosinia Scientific names: The Senegalese word dosin means mussel. Other scientific names: Within the family Dosinia the following specie are found in Swedish waters: Dosinia lincta, that earlier has wrongfully been called Dosinia lupinus and Dosinia exoleta. It is difficult for the novice to see the difference between the two specie.     It is Dosinia exoleta that is pictured on the preceding page.
