Distribution in scandinavian waters

Maximum length: Ø: 8 (shell) cm.
Appearance: Usually a green-brown shell, and green, redish or violet spines with white tips. Compare with the green sea-urchin.
Depth: 10-1200 m.
Environment: Strongylocentrotus droebachiensis is commonly found on hard bottoms.
Classification: Strongylocentrotus droebachiensis belongs to the sea-urchin group under echinodermata (spiney-skinned).
